Landcapes That Pass Us By

There’s beauty in just about everywhere we go but often we don’t see it. I get a real buzz taking photos of places that people would otherwise just pass by without consideration. This small collection of images is just that, places were you’d passing by without noticing, but stop, spend a few moments in silence and the beauty is revealed.

Some of these have received awards ,and all are available for to download and print for yourself, just ask and I’ll send you a hi-res copy.

Masters Of Art

I’m forever fascinated with people who have dedicated a lives work to their art or craft. Whist Wedding Photography is our thing, this photo essay is my look into the world these artist live as they go about their art.

Fiddler Dan the luthier, defined as a craftsperson who builds or repairs string instruments that have a neck and a sound box. There are very few people doing this work and Fiddler Dan trained under a now retired master/teacher David Brown. His training methods looked more like that of a martial artist than a wood worker with a very strict adherence to technique, repetitious manual tasks to build a connection with the tools and to develop a sense of harmony with the wood. Days in the workshop are accompained by ‘Koa’ the rescue dog who sits patently by making sure she’s available for pats and silent company.

The colours and tones in these images, subtile black and white with hints of reds and purples, are intended to create a world that transports the viewer into that special space that the craftsman, the artist, intently occupies without regard for who’s watching.
